The Tactile Quilt is just one of many variations of fabric quilts or collages (Busy Quilts, Fidget Blankets are other names) that combine a number of textures that are soothing to those with developmental disabilities or those with Alzheimers, stroke victims, etc. The Notions Winter 2008 issue (page 8) included an article from the Lansing chapter that described their version as a 15" by 19" Fidget Quilt that fits in a person's lap.
