The chapter accepts sewing-related donations (sewing machines, fabric, tools, notions)
  • From members and former members
  • From non-members at the discretion of the Donations Committee
We request that donations follow these guidelines
  • Sewing machines are complete and in working order
  • Fabric is suitable for sewing garments
To donate quantities of quilting fabrics, contact Des Moines Area Quilters Guild
  • Fabric pieces are yardage (not scraps or clothing) in pieces of at least 1 full yard
  • Items are clean
  • Items are packaged in tubs or boxes
Delivery
  • Contact the Donations Coordinator for current availability and instructions
  • Acceptance of donated items from non-members based on storage space available as well as committee’s evaluation of suitability of items for sale
Large or high-value items, such as sewing tables, sewing machines, etc.: If Central Iowa ASG does not have room to store the items, or if the donor would like to receive a portion of the proceeds of the sale of the items, the following options are available:
  • Place a free ad for the item(s) in our next quarterly newsletter
  • Bring the item(s) to a chapter meeting to sell directly
  • Advertise the items through an e-mail sent by the president to chapter membership
The Chapter will receive at least 25% of the sale price of items sold in this manner.
