Junior Member Scholarship
The Central Iowa Chapter of the American Sewing Guild is committed to encouraging and assisting young sewists.
The Chapter will sponsor up to ten (10) annual scholarships for students each year upon application on a first-come basis. Junior membership (valued at $35) will provide all the resources and opportunities of regular membership. To be eligible, you must be between the ages of 18-22 and a student. Recipients of a scholarship will be expected to participate in a minimum of two (2) chapter activities within the scholarship year.

WHAT IS ASG AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM A JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP?
The American Sewing Guild (ASG) seeks to “Advance Sewing as an Art and Life Skill.” The Central Iowa Chapter of the ASG has an active membership of approximately 100 members throughout Central Iowa and is active in promoting education, inspiration, and camaraderie for sewists. The local chapter meets most months on the third Saturday of the month, in the morning, at Huxley Iowa, with a $3 fee for each meeting.
Sewist of all types are welcome, but this particular chapter has an emphasis on garment sewing. There are also special events, opportunities for volunteering, and a mentor program. National ASG has a weekly email newsletter, and the Chapter newsletter is issued four times a year. You will have access to all online resources of the national and local chapter websites. AND you will find your “tribe” of passionate and creative sewists!
