February 18th - Upcycling
Zoom Meeting Join Pamela Ziegenhagen to learn about the art of upcycling. Pam is a film-maker with a passion for changing up your wardrobe without buying new. She is a member of Wearable Art Midwest based in Minneapolis. This meeting will kick off our 2023 Member Challenge: Upcycled or Zero-Waste Garments. Guests are welcome to attend. Published author, historian, and embroidery enthusiast Elizabeth Molnar LaFleur will present a historical overview of Chinese Silk Embroidery as we meet back in Huxley in March. There will be many photos and examples of embroidery to view. April 15th - State Fair Bootcamp
Panel Discussion and Show & Tell A panel of members with years of experience will share with us their knowledge and offer us some tips for submitting garments for State Fair judging. If you've ever considered showing your sewing at the Fair, don't miss out on this discussion. We'll also have a Show & Tell of your winter and early spring sewing projects. We'd especially love to see what you've made with free table or fabric sale finds! |
Monthly meetings are on Saturday mornings at Trinity United Methodist Church in Huxley (unless otherwise noted). Meetings are open to the public. The meeting fee is $3 for members and non-members. Guests may attend up to two meetings prior to joining the chapter. Current pandemic precautions include optional masks and no food consumed in the building. Attendees may bring their own beverage. Gathering at 9:00, program at 9:15.

Luana Bank, Polk City February 11, 2023 - 9:00 am-7:00 pm Bring your hand sewing or machines and spend some time with other makers. You can bring projects to work on or just stop in and say hello. Stay for a little while or all day. Non-member guests are welcome. |
