Designs for Dolls

Dolls and toys are favorite sewing projects for many Chapter members. We're busy collecting and sharing bits of fabric to sew this year's batch of toys.

2021 Doll Project
Sixty-eight dolls and 40 plush critters were donated to central Iowa families through the Bidwell Riverside center in Des Moines and the Salvation Army in Marshalltown. The dolls were styled with outfits selected from the 500 items stitched by members.

More Projects

Afghan refugees are relocating in Iowa. Central Iowa Chapter is working with refugee settlement programs to support Afghan women's requests for sewing supplies, fabric and machines. We are offering our time to help distribute materials and to help women with their sewing.

Bubble Ball is a local gala fundraising event for children who have special needs. Elaborate costumes and props are made entirely from bubble wrap.
